Compadre wasn't created in a boardroom. It was built through decades of experience in lending, construction, development, real estate, and technology.
Rory Manning began his career as a mortgage broker, mortgage banker, and construction finance manager before spending more than a decade helping build a successful land, home, and loan platform in Denver. The business combined financing, development, construction, and manufactured housing into a single operation. While many people specialized in one part of the housing industry, Rory worked across the entire process - from financing and development to sales and marketing.
At the same time, he developed another passion: technology.
Long before websites, digital marketing, cloud platforms, and artificial intelligence became common business tools, Rory was building websites and managing company servers. He saw firsthand how technology could help smaller companies compete with much larger organizations. That belief became a guiding principle throughout his career: smart systems and better technology create opportunities that size alone cannot.
When he moved to California in 2014, he brought that mindset with him. He earned his California real estate license, expanded his manufactured housing expertise, and continued building systems that connected lending, real estate, marketing, and technology. As the industry evolved, he became increasingly convinced that consumers and agents deserved something better than the traditional brokerage model.
In 2017, he founded Compadre.
Compadre was never intended to be a traditional real estate company. It was designed to combine real estate, mortgage lending, specialized housing expertise, digital marketing, automation, and emerging technology into a single platform focused on helping people make better real estate decisions.
